Sun casts shadows on a porch walkway in the courtyard. The fine iron work and concrete porches date from c. 1900 and were made possible because of a gift of a generous donor, John Ryan. He was a lifelong friend of the Sisters of St. Joseph. John had been educated by the Sisters in Houghton, Michigan.
