This bas-relief represents the death of St. Joseph. Joseph is considered the patron of a happy death. While not found in the written scriptures it is assumed that Mary and Jesus were present at his death. This bas-relief is found in the Motherhouse chapel and is the work of Joseph Sibbel. The lily visible here is often used as a symbol of St. Joseph.
